They begin with a 1-1-2" diameter extension (the same tubing as some of their downtubes), cold work it into an oval and then weld it to a CNC machined titanium plate. The CNC machined aluminum removable face is bolted securely with two 6mm bolts giving you unparalleled strength, stiffness, lightness and versatility in a titanium stem
