Seals-two raised bumps inboard of the horizontal
shelves (bead seats) that locate the tire beads on the
rim's inside diameter. These slightly higher lips,
together with the positive inner diameter location of
the bead help to retain the tire form pulling away from
the hook during heavy lateral loading.
Sidewall Wear Indicator is a groove in the braking
surface that, when no longer visible, indicates that the
