The Thomson Elite seat post is made from a single piece of high strength 7000 series aluminum; which gives the Thomson Elite seat post you optimum strength at low weight. The Thomson Elite seat post "impact absorbing" clamps, made from forged (high strength) aluminum, have a plus or minus 17 degrees tilt capability, and are designed to protect the seat rails from bending.
